Paintings from Denmarks Golden Age is well represented at the Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek. The Museums founder, the brewer Carl Jacobsen acquired several major works during the last century, and since then the Museum has continued to place emphasis on art from this period. The Glyptotek owns works by leading painters such as Abildgaard, Eckersberg, Købke and Lundbye, but lesser known Golden Age painters such as Lorenz Frølich and Dankvart Dreyer are also well represented.
