Government Industrial Development Strategy .dk21

.dk21 - A new strategy for Denmark's industrial development policy is the industrial development strategy of the government for the years ahead. This strategy defines the framework of how Denmark should tackle the challenges of the global knowledge driven economy without jeopardizing basic values. The strategy is based on the government's wish for a sustainable society not exclusively aiming at growth in material prosperity but above all focusing on social balance and a sound environment.

One vital condition for the sustainable society is the existence of a competitive trade and industry capable of marketing its products worldwide. This strategy thus outlines the visions of the government for the industrial development in six focus areas:

- Knowledge and competences
- Global Outlook
- Committed Venture Capital
- Well functioning markets
- Quality of Regulation
- The social accountability of businesses.

These visions are supported by targets and initiatives. The targets are the aim guiding the efforts of the government in the years to come whereas the initiatives are intended to steer Denmark in the right direction.
