Parent Training for Autism Spectrum Disorder: Improving the Quality of Life for Children and Their Families

Parent training is a highly accessible psychotherapeutic approach and is one of the most promising methods for promoting long-term behavioral improvements in children with ASD. Using this approach, mental health practitioners pass along their knowledge to parents, teaching them effective parenting skills and behaviors. This book demonstrates how parent training can address common issues among families of children with ASD, including communication deficits; disruptive behaviors; tendencies to wander off; and difficulties with feeding, toileting, and sleep.
